#OOTD: Night Owl

So this was the second outfit my friend and I photographed on our double OOTD mission lasting until 1 AM. It was surprisingly cold this night and there's actually a story behind this location. She lives near a parking garage with vines growing all around the façade and I thought I wanted to photograph there but it was quite hard to reach the spot I wanted so we wandered into the garage and it was amazing! These wires are what keep the cars from falling down the middle but don't they look like sculptures!?

I'll likely return to this garage for more OOTD shoots because it was really graphic, there were many other photographable locations, and I love the industrial feel of parking garages.

#OOTD: The Factory

Hello! I feel bad for not posting and I'm super sorry! I shot 2 OOTD posts in one night at like midnight after I got off work because of it; expect the other post later this week. I wore this outfit to a book launch for my friend who was part of 512Stew, a group of UT Design Majors. I got to meet a lot of cool people and visited the nearby gallery on their campus as well which was quite inspiring.

I kinda stole the show with my outfit and I felt bad because I didn't even mean to; I had planned this outfit the night before I was even invited but I don't think I made any of my friends upset, thankfully.

#OOTD: I Own the World

Hello! I made something recently! Guess what it is! It's this hella cool dress you can see!!!!
So yeah I was bored one day and I had this idea in mind for a future project I'm putting together and I just decided to do it now!
Overall, it was pretty easy. It just took a lot of time because vinyl is incredibly cumbersome to work with.
Walking in it was more of a challenge than I thought it would be, I had to walk a bit slower than I usually do and shorten my stride but I saw some people take photos of me so it was pretty worth it.

Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! I was Shiva this year and I wore this costume to my friend's surprise birthday party. She's the one in the Wonder Woman costume. Everything worked out well, she was surprised and she wore her costume from last year to fit in!

after I got home and took the wig off, you can see my makeup better but this was after 4 hours of having fun and then laying on the carpet from being tired so know that it was better than this at the start

Shiva's Wrath AKA the mess I had to clean the next day from it

I was inspired by my absolute favorite drag queen, Raja Gemini. She not only dressed as a Hindu Goddess for RuPaul's Drag Race - Season 5 - reunion but also for her single cover of Zubi Zubi Zubi!

What are you being for Halloween? Stay safe tonight :)

#OOTD: I Mean Business

I visited the Capitol again! I hadn't planned on shooting an OOTD post but my friend suggested it so we just had my phone to work with. Sorry for the lower quality ahead of time. I found this suit at a thrift store and originally it had pants but I cut it down to shorts. The pattern is really unique; it's a glossy square pattern over a matte fabric.

there's a post about my Halloween costume coming soon....

Look No Further for Winter Coats

If you're a regular reader of this blog, you already know that I love dressing monochrome. My style is starting to transition to my vision of how people in the future would realistically dress. I've been getting inspiration from Tron, Star Trek, Zenon, along with actual designers.
So there's definitely some of that aesthetic in this post but I wanted to include other coats I thought were cute because I know not everyone wants to look like a doctor from Star Trek.

Minimal. Monochrome. Sharp lines. Sterile.

STERILE

1  2  3  4  5

I'm still inspired by club kids from the 80's and 90's so that creeps back into my style from time to time. The coat on the far left is part of Minju Kim's collection with H&M launching October 17th at select stores and has a really crazy mix of prints on the back. Pink coats are trendy too so I had to include a faux fur one.

COLORFUL

1  2  3  4

For those that insist on purchasing a wardrobe staple you can wear everyday and dress up or down I've included these! I think the texture of the Comme des Garçons coat (far left) really elevates it from other blazers and blazer style jackets. I just had to include a cape too, they are the definition of timeless.

TIMELESS

1  2  3  4

If you're curious about the ones I love the most, they are 2,4,5 from STERILE, 3 from COLORFUL and 1,3 from TIMELESS. I'm planning to buy the blue fur one and one of the two far right ones in STERILE. Unfortunately, because I live in Texas winter doesn't really exist so I don't have a huge demand for coats. I know, depressing major.

Which ones do you like?

Rick Owens SS 2014 (and why it's possibly the most progressive show of the decade)

Rick Owens, in a single show, used more ethnic models than Paris Fashion Week has ever seen before. This wasn't your usual fashion runway, this was a step performance presentation with the step team members modeling the clothes. This was iconic. This was legendary.

The models were comprised of 3 step teams performing as one. I think it's so adorable to see how excited they were for the show (below) and then to see the transition into the faces they had on the runway. The ethnic diversity and lack of size 0 models made this show jarring and was just the fresh air that the fashion industry needed.

Scroll all the way to the end to see the performance!

I wasn't a huge fan of the shoes, they're a bit bulky

buckle up for the performance!

#OOTD: Boy of the 21st Century

Greetings! Today was a lovely day, it didn't get too hot today, thankfully. And I gave a speech about why Anna Wintour is an important person to my presentational speaking class! I've been wanting to do this hairstyle for awhile because I saw it on Scary Spice and then Azealia Banks and even Miley Cyrus wore it a couple weeks ago but I never knew what it was called so I didn't know how to look it up. My struggle was really real. But I found a helpful video on youtube and I was so happy! The video is linked at the bottom of the post.

To complete my space traveler theme, I wore snowboarding goggles, jewels on my forehead, and white boots.

Something is wrong with the camera I usually use so I had to check out a camera from my uni until Canon fixes it. Sorry for the weird over-exposure/lighting issues, it was my first tine using it. I just wanted to post this for y'all, despite my technical difficulties.

#OOTD: Hampton Club Kid

Today's the last day in my Week of White! I told y'all I had something special in store! I was inspired by @majormoon on instagram, a hair colorist who regularly uses glitter gels. I mixed a bit of cheap $1 clear gel with glitter and painted it on and voila! I love how it looks and everyone on campus has been telling me they like it, most of the people I'm completely stranger to. I thought this look was one of the most casual "resort" looks I've done this week but I shook it up with the glitter gel which is why I chose to title it as such. I think it all just kinda works.

#OOTD: Generation Y

So after my extremely weird outfit yesterday I wanted to tone it down and be comfortable today. But just because I'm comfortable today doesn't mean I don't have something up my sleeve for tomorrow... just you wait.

As a child I was a hardcore fan of the Spice Girls, my favorite was Baby Spice. I still love them after all these years! I mean hello, tuesday's outfit title was a spin of Sporty Spice! My favorite has definitely switched to Ginger Spice though because of her wacky fashion antics but I listen to them almost every day. So I thought I would finally get a Spice Girls shirt. I still remember (my mom) buying this album the day it came out and I thought the cover was just beyond cool.

#OOTD: Ghost

Third day of my Week of White! People have started figuring out what I'm doing but it's started something else. They think I'm going to continue the year wearing monochrome outfits, a different color every week! These people do not know how lazy I am. That is just too much work to do every week, honey.

But I made this "body cover" during the summer and I've just been waiting for the right time to break it out. I was inspired by Hwan Sung Park but I couldn't find it for sale anywhere. I think it was just a showpiece so I made my own. It was super simple. Get a piece of tulle as tall as you and sew the sides together to make a tube and then just sew in an elastic neckband.

#OOTD: Skorty Spice

Today's the second day in my 'week of white' and I really like this outfit. While I've worn outfits that pushed boundaries before, I've never worn a skort. But I actually really love this. I guess it's just like a pair of shorts with fresh-to-death detailing on the front.
People seemed shocked by it, no surprise there.

#OOTD: Blank Page

Today was my first day back to school and I felt so happy to be back. My classes bored me a little because I only had one of my design classes today and two electives. But tomorrow should be more fun, I have two design classes to look forward to.

An idea has been stirring in my head for awhile and last night I finally decided I would do it. All this week I'm only going to wear white. Why? There's literally no reason at all other than that I think wearing a monochromatic outfit makes you stand out and I like to stand out. (And white is my favorite color.) People really seemed to enjoy my outfit I wore today, as well as my extensions. I'm loving the extensions.

#OOTD: Ombré all the way

Okay if you've been following my blog for awhile now you may have noticed that I really like for the top to be the focal point and I just wear solid color (usually black) jeans with accessories.

This outfit was no different but I decided to toss on some hippie-inspired shades. I think it made the outfit ~totally groovy~!
