My friend Robby came over and we decided to do a quick shoot (I didn't even wear this today shh don't tell anyone). We took the photos by the power plant on my campus where I took my senior photos and I ended up climbing in a chute that I wasn't supposed to as you can see below. It was pretty sketchy. I've worn this outfit before but never documented it anywhere so I decided to just redo it because cute. I also can't stop incorporating the Margiela for H&M clutch into outfits so it's here as well. This outfit is called...

OOTD: Shine bright, shine far
I wore this outfit yesterday and it's a pretty normal outfit (for me anyways) but I thought it was pretty cute so I wanted to share it anyways as inspiration. Also, you'll notice that I went more wild on the editing than I usually do. I don't want my photos to look "cheap" so I don't tend to over-edit them for OOTDs but I just really wanted to today.
This look is called

Givenchy FW2013
Givenchy was quite masculine this season; taking cues from sports and the use of black leather, Riccardo Tisci delivered a manly collection for F/W 2013.
The whole collection was quite dark but not in a depressing sense, more in an mysterious, intimidating feel.
There were several trends throughout the show starting with leather! Leather was seen throughout the show but most predominately in these outfits...

NEXT, the leather continued but it was used a bit differently. The coat wasn't used as a singular piece in the show, it was more of a styling choice that required the leather coats. You can see the coats tied around the models' waist here...
Here was a big hint at the sporting inspirations |
(it even started getting into the infamous prints but more on these later)
The coats weren't only in leather but they were also woven as well. I think the weave of the coat gives it a more approachable kind of look for a more daily style.
AND NOW HERE ARE THE PRINTED TEES! Everyone loves these tees so much, Givenchy is known for this. The prints are visually pleasing from far away but when you get closer, you can see what the print actually is. It's still a very striking image but Tisci went for a provocative vibe this season.
Riccardo Tisci was quoted as saying, "It's an obsession of sports, sexuality, hard sex, and ... everything that relates to America in a very dark way" about this season's collection. You can certainly see all of those themes in Givenchy's Fall/Winter Menswear 2013 collection.
While I loved this collection, I am a big fan of Riccardo Tisci's work for Givenchy so I am a little biased… What did you think about this collection? I'd love to hear.

I made the beanie that I'm wearing a couple days ago and you can find the tutorial to it here. It's a copy of the Jil Sander veiled beanie from her Spring 2012 collection. It was super easy to make and I've gotten so many compliments on it. :)
It's been pretty cold here in Austin so I've had to wear a jacket or risk freezing to death in the name of fashion but my dad's army jacket is the most comfortable and warm jacket I have so I like to wear it quite a bit and it matches so much.
I just wanted to look a bit grunge-y today (but not homeless) so I paired this ensemble together with the beanie. This look is called...

OOTD: Caught in a Net
I wore this outfit to my classes today; I had American Experiences (which is basically American History), Rhetoric & Composition II, and Color & Design. I'm really loving my classes so far, even the core ones. I'm behind on my major since I recently switched it to Graphic Design so I'm taking quite a bit of classes but they're all really enjoyable. Nothing really exciting happened today other than me going to Whole Foods. I purchased Skin DeTox tea and Tazo berryblossom white tea as well as some agave nectar. This look is called:
CAUGHT IN A NET
peacoat, Banana Republic collared shirt, Colorful mesh shirt, Levi's jeans, Dr. Martens boots, Urban Outfitters backpack, Swarovski ring
And the craziest thing happened to me when I was taking these photographs-- someone walked into the staircase as my camera flash was going off, it was mortifying. And then running away out of embarrassment, I tripped up the stairs and the worst part is that I didn't even see their face.
I'm just trying to blog, not be embarrassed.

Mugler Menswear AW2013
Mugler Menswear was all about neon, triangles, and spy wear for AW2013.
Today was the start of Paris Menswear Fashion Week and Mugler wrapped up the first day; they also set the bar pretty high for other designers. Not only did Nicola Formichetti commission G-Dragon for the runway track "I am Mugler" but he, along with Romain Kremer, showed so many different yet all wonderful looks.
The show started out with a muted colour palette but they didn't hold back any on the design portion.

As the monochrome trend is coming back around, it was only fitting that Mugler dabbled in it...
